We believe that environmental management and the search for new solutions are essential to preserve nature and provide everyone an increasingly promising future.     CLEAN
    ENERGY

    Saving and using clean sources for energy generation is one of the main commitments of Porto Seco Sul de Minas. Therefore, one of our environmental management actions involves investing in photovoltaic solar panels, which convert sunlight into electrical energy.

    ELECTRIC
    VEHICLES

    We provide electric vehicles to facilitate the internal movement of our employees, aiming at safe transit, noise reduction and reduction of environmental impacts with lower emission of polluting gases.

    INTERLOCKED
    FLOOR

    All vehicle and pedestrian traffic areas (approximately 95,000 m²) have a permeable interlocked floor. It is a more resistant and durable solution that allows better runoff and drainage of water, easy to maintain and repair, in addition to reducing the temperature of the environment by absorbing less sunlight than asphalt and reinforced concrete.

    EFFICIENT
    CLIMATIZATION

    We use air conditioners with the Procel “A” Seal, the best category in the energy efficiency rating, contributing to the technological development and the reduction of environmental impacts. Inverter technology reduces consumption and avoids power surges. It has energy savings of up to 40% compared to traditional appliances, has superior durability due to less wear and allows you to quickly reach the desired temperature.

    GREEN
    AREAS

    Our complex has approximately 90 thousand m² of green areas and landscaping. The vegetation cover helps to absorb suspended particulate matter and filters toxic elements and is important for the absorption of rainwater in the soil, supplying the water table. It also contributes to the balance of the microclimate and generates greater thermal and aesthetic comfort, in addition to allowing the free movement of the birds in their local biome, such as seriemas and carcarás.

    SEWAGE CAPTURE AND
    TREATMENT

    All effluents generated by CLIA, where Porto Seco is installed, are collected in anaerobic sewage treatment plants. The sludge resulting from the process is captured and treated by a specialized company that issues the final disposal certificates and performs the treatment of the mineralized sludge, which undergoes a composting process, resulting in Compost Organic Fertilizer – Class D.

    NEW GENERATORS AND
    SOOT EMISSION TESTS

    Porto Seco Sul de Minas uses new generators that are more energy efficient, save fuel and have low levels of pollutants emission. Soot tests are performed annually to ensure that equipment is operating within proper environmental standards.

    EFFICIENT INTERNAL AND
    EXTERNAL LIGHTING

    Our sheds have a transparent skylights that allows the use of natural light. LED light fixtures complement the indoor lighting and the outdoor patios are illuminated with LED spotlights. These are actions that allow the use of energy consciously.

    WATER
    ECONOMY

    All bathrooms are equipped with modern faucets and economical flushes that reduce consumption and avoid waste of water. For cleaning large areas, we use equipment that has low water consumption, increases efficiency and facilitates the work of the cleaning staff.

    RAINWATER CAPTURE
    SYSTEM

    We installed a rainwater harvesting system, with underground tanks that collect rainwater for use in garden irrigation and external cleaning, significantly reducing the company’s water consumption. The average volume collected is 100 thousand liters per year.

    RECYCLING

    Porto Seco Sul de Minas carries out the selective collection of recyclable materials. All material is collected by a local recycling company that issues certificates with the description and weight of the items.
